Effective Splicing of Release Coated Paper
3M™ Polyester Splicing Tape 8401 is a translucent, cream colored, single coated splicing tape. It is commonly used for butt splicing release coated Papers. Other useful applications include temporary holding and masking while providing easy removal as well as with applications that require high Temperature resistance. 3M™ Polyester Splicing Tape 8401 not only has a high Temperature resistance, but the initial bond can actually be increased by applying heat. The blended silicone and rubber adhesive provides a higher initial bond when used with release treated substrates. The polyester film resists splice failure due to shrinkage or embrittlement. Overall, polyester splicing tape is known for having excellent thermal, abrasion and chemical resistance while maintaining its flexibility.

Helpful Tips for Taping Success
For the best results, apply firm and even pressure to the taped area to create the best possible adhesion between the tape and Paper surface. Optimal application Temperature range is: 40º to 100ºF (4º to 38ºC).
