Tough Tape Offers Easy Opening Offering high-strength and a high pull-rate, Scotch® Tear Strip Tape 8624 is a blue, polypropylene reinforced tear strip tape with a synthetic rubber resin adhesive. This tape tears through light to heavy-weight Paperboard and corrugated fiberboard with high pull-rate success. The synthetic rubber adhesive produces good shear strength for demanding, single-wall, corrugated tear strip applications. High performance. Tensilized polypropylene film reinforced with continuous polypropylene monofilaments for 160 lb/inch width tensile strength for high pull rate success. Designed for flat surface or vacuum wheel applicators. Continuous polypropylene monofilaments provide greater resistance to edge tearing and nicking than tensilized polypropylene film without filament reinforcement. Rubber resin adhesive bonds to most Paperboard and corrugated fiberboard, including those with high recycled content. Applications:- Convenience opening tape for overnight courier boxes/envelopes; audio/video/CD/book mailers; and primary retail packages for such items as electronics, toys, medical devices, and computers- For mail order retailers who want to reduce returned package damage from customers cutting open the package Typical Physical Properties:- 30% elongation at break- 64 oz/inch adhesion to steel- Standard widths: 1/4 inch, 3/16 inch, 1/8 inch |
