3M™ 8686 Tape has been formulated to pass FAR 25.853 vertical burn test. Tough, thermoplastic elastomer is abrasion, tear, and puncture resistant. It provides a moisture barrier when applied to aircraft floor panels and a smoke barrier when applied in the seat track. Adhesion level is relatively constant over time, thus easily removable. Conformable to most surfaces.
3M 8686 Tape is a transparent, flame retardant polyurethane protective tape with a satin surface finish. It has an acrylic adhesive and excellent UV stability. Target thickness is 0.006 inch (0.15 mm).
