Scotch Serrated Tape 8498 from 3M is a carton sealing tape that provides additional utility in that receivers of the goods can open the carton without the use of a knife or cutting tool. 8498 is uniquely serrated on its edge providing users the ability to tear the tape by hand when a 90 degree forces is applied to the tape. This provides excellent utility when knives and/or other cutting tools are being used to apply the tape, or opening the carton that it seals. Not using a knife at the point of application or receipt can help increase worker safety, and reduce product damage in the supply chain. (Tape is clear with red symbol and message regarding not using a cutting tool)
